Carl Duch Master, Eastern Wisconsin District
Carl Duch joined the Oconomowoc Council in 1972 and has served on numerous committees and held many officer positions, including two separate terms as Grand Knight. During the three years as Grand Knight the Council earned the Star Council Award twice. Carl has received three Knight of the Year and four Family of the Year awards and in 2001 received Family of the Year from the State Council for the Milwaukee Archdiocese. He is chairman of the Council Fundraising Committee which has raised over $40,000 for the Parish Building Fund. Carl is an Honorary Life member of Albert Cardinal Meyer Assembly in Waukesha and has served as Faithful Navigator and Faithful Comptroller. He is a member of the Honor Guard. Currently serves the State Council as Chairman of the Investment Review Committee and is a member of the Milwaukee Third Degree Team. He was a member of the Eastern Wisconsin Fourth Degree team for 13 years and served on the District’s Executive Committee for eight years. Carl received the State of Wisconsin Medallion Award for the Milwaukee Archdiocese in 2006 and was elected as a State delegate to the Supreme Convention held in Nashville. Carl and his wife, Pauline, were married in 1963 and have a daughter, Wendy, and a son, Scott. Wendy and her husband Jeff live in North Carolina with Nic and Hallie. Scott and his wife Susan live in Michigan with Halina. Carl and Pauline are members of St. Jerome Parish in Oconomowoc. Carl was raised in the Indianhead area of Wisconsin and graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1956. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with majors in Chemistry and mathematics, and received a Masters Degree in Education, which emphasis in Chemistry, from Washington University in St. Louis in 1964. Carl has completed Post Masters work in chemistry, physics and computer technology. He taught science and coordinated computer technology in the Oconomowoc School District for 37 years before retiring in 1998. He currently volunteers at the Oconomowoc Area Senior Center by teaching computer classes, chairs the Luncheon Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee. Carl was a member of the City of Oconomowoc Parks and Recreation Board, a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels, a volunteer at Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, and is currently a Poll Worker for the City of Oconomowoc. |
