Roland C. Ransom II
State Deputy

Roland Ransom has been a part of the Knights of Columbus since he joined the Michael James-Feider Council 7048 in 1991. He helped to Charter St. Joseph’s Council 13733 in March of 2005 and elected its Charter Grand Knight. Council 13733 earn the ‘Double Star Award” in 2006. Roland has served in leadership positions in his councils serving all 3rd Degree Officer Positions with the exception of Financial Secretary. Roland joined the Albert Cardinal Meyer 4th Degree Assembly in 1992 and was Faithful Navigator in 2001/2002. He also served as Committee Chairman for many activities, including church, vocations, membership, youth, retention, fund-raising, community projects and council socials, both in the 3rd and 4th Degrees. Roland is a member of his council’s 1st degree team.

As Membership Director for Council 7048, Council 7048 earned the Star Council three (3) consecutive years. Roland has been honored with the Family and Knight of the month eight (8) times. His Councils also has named him Family and Knight of the year. Roland and Judy were also presented the State Family of the year for the Milwaukee Archdiocesan at the 2006 State Convention. Roland also was honored with the Medallion Award at the 2005 State Convention.

Roland served as District Deputy in District 68 for (5) years earning the Circle of Honor Award, Outstanding 1st year District Deputy, Outstanding District Deputy twice, and Star District. He also received the Golden Knight Award in 2005. Roland was elected Delegate to the Supreme Convention in Washington D.C. in 2003. He was appointed as State Membership Coordinator from 2004 until elected State Secretary in April 2006. Roland was reelected Sate Secretary at the 2007 State Convention in Green Bay. At the 2008 State Convention in Wisconsin Dells, he was elected to the office of State Deputy.

Roland is also very active in his community. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines in 1967. He has been a volunteer instructor for the American Red Cross for 17 years teaching CRP and First Aid. He is also a member of the Mukwonago Catastrophic Medical Fund.

Roland has been very active in his parish serving as Eucharistic Minister and has taught CCD classes and ushered. He has chaired and helped at many Parish Fundraisers and was a member of the Archdiocese Pastoral Council for eight (8) years and District Delegate for five (5) years.

Roland and his wife Judy have been married for 41 years and have two daughters Paulette and Stephanie. They have two grandchildren, Steven and Mackenzie. They are members of St. Joseph’s Parish in Big Bend.
