Jacob J. Grzywacz
Master, Wiscosin Western District

Jacob “Jack” Grzywacz has been apart of the Knights of Columbus since August 1981 when he join Council 5488, in Mosinee. He served in all the council chairs, except that of Treasurer and Financial Secretary. Currently he is the Chancellor of the council's First Degree Team. Jack has received many Family of the Month and Knight of the month awards through his involvement doing Christmas Baskets, Christmas Parade Floats, and numerous other charitable activities. He has also received the Wisconsin State Medallion Award for the Diocese of La Crosse in 1997 from Past State Deputy Larry Lanners.

Jack joined the ranks of the Fourth Degree in April of 1983. He has held all positions except Faithful Purser, including the chair of Faithful Navigator for 3 years. During the first year of his membership, Jack became a member of the Color Corps.

Jack served on the Western District Degree Team for 18 1/2 years, serving under 5 Masters (Ed Quillan, Jerry Kasper, Harold Stohlmeyer, Anthony Felber, and Charles Wiederholt). During this time he was the sacristan, coordinator, and set-up person. Before his appointment to Master of the Western District, he was the Area Coordinator for 12 years and the Assembly's Comptroller for 10 years.

Lady Donna and Jack have been married for 44 years and are the parents of four sons. They have nine grandchildren of which only one is a girl. They are members of St. Theresa Parish, Rothschild but prior to that they were member's of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mosinee. There Jack served as Festival Chairman for 5 years, Parish Council President for 3 years and Trustee for many. He also was the Cemetery Sexton.

Jack retired from Weyerhaeuser Paper Company after 39 1/2 years. Thirty of these years were filling the position of working foreman, enabling him to attend seminars on management, finance, and mechanics.
