Charles W. Wiederholt of Cuba City has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1955. He began as a member of Council 765 of Cuba City, where he was very active. He was instrumental in starting Council 7370 of Hazel Green where he was Charter Grand Knight for 4-1/2 years and Star Council for 3 of those years. He has held the offices of Trustee, Guard, Warden, Advocate and Chancellor. The council received the 10% membership award each year under his leadership. Charles has been a true supporter of our Mental Retarded Program. Charles is a member of the First Degree Team and help Start First Degree Team in 3 councils Charles has recruited more than 60 men to join the order.

Charles joined the Father Mazzuchelli 4th degree Council 1202 of Lancaster. He has been a member of Council 1202 for 22 years. During his years with Council 1202, he has held the offices of Pilot, Captain, Admiral, Sentinel and Trustee. Charles has held the office of Faithful Navigator for 2 terms.

Charles was District Deputy for 4 years, Star District for 2 years and Marshal of the Western District for 3 Masters. He was also Marshal of 4th Degree Exemplification Team for 15 years. He was the Medallion Award Winner 1989-1990 for the Diocese of Madison. Charles was Diocesan Coordinator for the Madison Diocese for 4 years. Charles was also State Youth Program Coordinator for Wisconsin for 4 years. Charles has attended all state conventions since 1979 and has attended 8 Supreme Conventions.

Charles has received awards from his Council, and from the State Council. The awards include Knight of the Month, Knight of the Year, Family of the Year by his Council, Family of the Year by the State Council and chosen 1" Runner up International Family of the year.

He is a past parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima. He has Mass said for vocations on the 24th of each month and places a rose for Pro Life each week in the church since 1978. At present he is a Lector, Lay Minister, and Usher. Charles is past Holy name Society President, past Parish Council President and past Alter Boy.

Charles is a member of the fund raising committee for the restoration of St. Augustine church in New Diggings built in 1844, which is the only church Fr. Mazzuchelli built that has not been altered. Charles is on the committee for the canonization of Fr. Mazzuchelli. He served on Father Mazzuchelli AD HOC Committee, for future projection of clergy and parishes for Madison Diocese under direction of Bishop Cletus O'Donnell.

Charles has been a Knight of the Holy Sepulcher for 6 years. He has received the Cross Pro-Ecclesia et Pontifice from His Holiness John Paul II. In 1993 during a Knight of Columbus tour to Rome, he received blessing and shook hands with John Paul II.

This year Charles and his wife Mary will be celebrating their 50th'" wedding anniversary. Charles has 3 sons which are all active members of the Knights of Columbus. Charles also has 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 1 special family member and their 4 children
